Installing the RhythmBee Desktop Application

1. Make a “RhythmBee” folder on your desktop.

2. Go to www.RhythmBee.com - then to the log in page (upper right) and log into your RB account

3. Notice that there are two links - one for Windows and another for Mac. The performance of the app is the same on both platforms, but the install process is slightly different.

a. Download the Instructions into your RhythmBee folder.

4. Right click on the link of Bundle that you wish to download (ZIP file dmg file).

a. Select “Save as” or “Save link as,” then navigate to your RhythmBee folder to save the ZIP file or dmg file.

5. When the download is complete, go to your RhythmBee folder.

6. Install the application as follows:

a. Windows: Right click on the ZIP file and select “Extract all.”

i. In the resulting folder, find the file with the RB icon attached.

ii. Double click on that file.

iii. Skip to Step 7.

b. Mac: Right click on the downloaded file and select “Open with - archive utility.”

i. In the resulting folder, find the file with the RhythmBee icon.

ii. Right click and select “Open.”

iii. Installation will begin and will require your attention as follows.

7. In the installation process, you may be asked to approve the installation of Adobe AIR, which is included in the application. No download is required.

a. Adobe AIR is the “engine” that supplies the digital energy for the animation.

b. IT IS NOT FLASH, and it is perfectly safe.

c. Please allow that installation.

d. You may also be required to select the location of the installation.

i. Please install this application in your RhythmBee folder.

e. You may be asked if you wish to place an icon on your desktop. Select “Yes.”

8. When the application opens, explore the app using the Table of Contents.

a. You can open any instructional unit by clicking on it button in the Table of Contents.

b. Notice the “Return to Table of Contents” button at the top of the page.

c. Notice the navigation arrows at the top. These arrows allow you to move to other pages.

9. When you are through playing with the application, close it with the exit button in the upper right.

10. Look for the icon on your desktop. If there is not one:

a. Open your RhythmBee Folder.

i. Open the application folder.

ii. Right click on the icon and select “Create a shortcut.”

iii. If that icon appears on your desktop, double click on it to open the application.

iv. If there is no icon in your RB folder or on your desktop, drag the file with the RB icon onto the desktop.

11. Close your RB folder and open the application. Notice how quickly it opens.
