Like all other programs that incorporate the RhythmBee method, Wind Studies ensures that every member of the beginning class is in the right place while the director tends to the needs of each player. Organized in 14 "pages," Wind Studies reinforces the skills taught on the corresponding page of a beginning band book. For each new beginning band skill, there are twenty exercises to allow each student plenty of repetitions. Some of the exercises are unison, and some are in ensemble form. That's right - nearly 300 exercises for beginning band practice.
Wind Studies makes it possible for the beginning band to get plenty of "chop time" in every class period. Many directors find it necessary for their students to alternate between playing and saying note names to the automated instruction. Without such a strategy, the students play so much that they are always tired. Quite a change from the times when it was difficult to let them play enough in beginning band.
Maestronome - our
